Research Interests
I am especially interested in implicit associations and action tendencies as these can influence attitudes, decisions, and behaviour irrespective of actively set goals. Such processes are on the one hand of societal relevance, e.g., in the domain of stereotypes that were the focus of my bachelor’s thesis, and on the other hand, they are of specific relevance in the domain of health behaviours.
During my Ph.D. programme, I focus on approach bias, a tendency to approach appetitive stimuli faster than avoiding them, and approach bias modification tasks with the goal to promote behaviour that is congruent with long-term goals.
